            On October, 13th, 1930 Advice of national commissioners of the USSR has decided to organize at the National commissariat of mails and telegraphs the Leningrad institute of engineers of communication. Base for it became the Maximum rates of communication in which now is St.-Petersburg State University of Telecommunications.

            From that time have passed many years, and the 70 years anniversary university have met as a complex educational institution into which structure enter profile liceum, three colleges (the St.-Petersburg college of telecommunications, colleges in Arkhangelsk and Smolensk in the status of branches), faculty of improvement of professional skill and retraining of the engineering-pedagogical staff, the Educational center of telecommunications and business, postgraduate study and doctoral studies. Now SPSUT carries out preparation of younger engineers, bachelors (two directions), experts on 16 specialities (ours among them =))...), masters (five directions), candidates (14 directions) and Dr.Sci.Tech. (6 directions). In total at university it is trained more than 7 thousand students.
            The faculty of university is nearby 600 person, among which 76 doctors (professors) and 290 candidates (senior lecturers) of engineering science are (once you can become one of them if you want).

            It is possible to carry three degree projects to successes in the international activity graduates who have been noted by premiums at competition in Germany. A number of joint educational projects is successfully lead - in Leipzig finish training 10 students under the program " Two diplomas ".
